Lithograph by John Baldessari created at El Nopal Press in Downtown Los Angeles. Executed by master printer Francesco Siqueiros. John Baldessari has created a number of works using the foot as a focus. This work carries on that idea, and in this instance, the hole in the shoe showing the covered toe fulfill the role of the “missing information” that much of his work is known for. In this work, the toe and shoe edge is embossed. Prints are accompanied by a certificate of production and a certificate of authenticity.

Your Prisms Ring So Clear
Letterpress
Edition of 20 / 10 HCs / 1 AP
18 x 24”
2014
$600 (unframed)

Los Angeles artist Megan Geckler has created a unique print in collaboration with Bert Green Fine Art in Chicago and Aardvark Letterpress in Los Angeles. Geckler is best known for her site specific installations which fill physical space with colored flagging tape; a geometric riot of color and illusion of movement. Letterpress lends itself well to the hard edge; this print is derived from a digital drawing view (from above) of a previous, ephemeral installation "Rewritten by Machine on New Technology".

Greg Colson is best known for wall sculptures constructed of salvaged materials, such as his “stick maps” of cities – the structure becoming a metaphor for the manifold influences on a city. Colson mocks the deluge of analysis by playing up the material and iconographic elements to such a degree that any actual understanding is subverted.
